What is an electromagnetic flow meter and where it is used?
The volume flow of conductive fluid in a closed pipeline can be determined with a magnetic flow meter. Magnetic flow meters are suitable for conductive water and wastewater applications. Magnetic flow meters are also used in the chemical and petroleum industries for flow measurement and monitoring.
What are the types of electromagnetic flow meters?
Based on classification there are main two types
1- integral type and

In integral type sensor and transmitter assembles together. And in remote type sensor is installs on the pipeline and a transmitter is installed in the instrument room.
Where do we use Electromagnetic Flow Meters?
Electromagnetic Flow Meter is the best choice for some of the applications such as,
3.Water and wastewater management.
4.Sugar Industries & Distilleries
5.Automobile and Chemical Industries
6.Boiler Feed Water Measurement Plant
What kind of lining materials are available in Electromagnetic Flow Meters?
In the case of Manas Electromagnetic Flow Meters, the materials used in the liners are neoprene, polyurethane, and Hard Rubber.
These can be an awesome electric insulator, corrosion or erosion-resistant, and are obstruction proof. For this reason, these can be used for slurry applications and are suitable for most acids, bases, water, and aqueous solutions.
How to measure molasses flow in Sugar Industry without any problems?
Molasses is a sugar industry by-product that varies depending on the raw sugar composition, production conditions, and primarily comprises large quantities of fermentable sugars (mostly sucrose). The electromagnetic flowmeter uses a new form of liner material and a sanitary lining procedure to meet the food industry’s health requirements. So, it can be used in the sugar production plant to prevent the accumulation of molasses residue in the measuring tube.
Want to measure flow when there is no power supply?
A new range of battery-operated flow meters is designed for situations where an electric supply is unavailable and accurate flow measurement is needed.
Want to measure flow of conductive fluid?
Electromagnetic flow meters are widely used for flow measurement of conducting fluid. These are used to measure wastewater applications or any dirty liquids that are conductive or water-based.
What are a flow meter and its types?
A flow meter is a device that measures the volumetric or mass flow rate in a variety of applications. The flow meter’s form and capacity are determined by the application. Volumetric and mass flow rates are used to calculate fluids, gases, and liquids.
What is the use of Solar Powered Flow Meter?
When precise flow measurement is needed in remote locations where mains power is unavailable, Manas solar-powered flow meters can be used. Solar-powered flow metering systems can be an excellent way to save money when it comes to powering flow meters in remote locations
What are the benefits of an Ultrasonic flow meter?
Some of the prominent benefits include are-
- More accurate results under tough operating conditions
- There are no moving parts, no pressure drops, and no maintenance requirements.
- Easy installation and adjustment of transducers
- Budget-friendly and adaptable
- Highly accurate and reliable
- These are usually available in clamp-on and insertion type
How does Ultrasonic Flow Meter work?
Working of ultrasonic flow meter is based on transit time principle which utilizes two transducers that function as both, ultrasonic transmitters and receivers. The transducers are clamped on the outside of a closed pipe or inserted in the pipeline by using an isolating ball valve assembly at a specific distance from each other.
Transit Time Flowmeters measure the time it takes for an ultrasonic signal transmitted from one sensor to cross a pipe and be received by a second sensor. Upstream and downstream time measurements are compared.
The time difference is a function of flow of the medium. With no flow, the transit time would be equal in both directions.
What are ultrasonic flow meters used for?
An ultrasonic flow meter utilizes ultrasound waves to measure the velocity of a fluid and is used in a variety of fluid applications. Ultrasonic flowmeters are ideal for water and other fluids.
Where are ultrasonic flow meters used?
Ultrasonic meters are ideal for wastewater applications or for any dirty liquid which is conductive or water-based but will generally not work with distilled water or drinking water. These flow meters are also ideal for applications where low-pressure drop, chemical compatibility, and low maintenance are required.
What are the applications of Manas BTU meter?
Want to measure steam flow up to 600°C temperature?
Manas Microsystem manufactures Steam Flow Meters that work for Saturated (100°C to 300° C) and Super-heated (300°C – 600°C) steam in closed conduits for pressures upto 30bar.
What is a thermal mass flow meter?
Thermal mass flow meter is a flow meter that uses the concept of conductive and convective heat transfer from a heated sensor to directly measure gas mass flow.
How thermal mass flow meter works?
Thermal mass flow meters are used for almost all of the applications for gas flow. Thermal mass flow meters, as the name suggests, use heat to calculate flow. It uses one or more temperature sensors to introduce heat into the flow stream and measures how much heat dissipates.
This approach is most effective when measuring gas mass flow. Due to heat absorption considerations, it is difficult to get a reliable signal using thermal mass flow meters in liquids.
What are the advantages of Manas thermal mass flow meter?
- Direct measurement of mass flow.
- No pressure or temperature compensation required
- 20:1 turndown.
- Wireless data transfer possible. Remote readings are available on wireless.
- Pulse, milliamps, and RS485 output for networking.
Did you know compressed air is costlier than steam? How do you control it then?
Compressed air is costlier than steam. Further, it is invisible when it leaks, unlike steam which is visible at the leakage points. Manas Thermal Mass flow meter will help to assign expenditures, track total consumption, and increase plant productivity by monitoring compressed air usage rates through various facility divisions. Thermal mass flow meters can provide both overall consumption and time tracking, which can aid in identifying high-consumption times.
Is it not easy to measure Gas Mass Flow?
Measuring gas mass flow is always believed to be costly and difficult. Not anymore. Manas offers Thermal Mass Flow Meters that measure the gas mass flow effectively. The accuracy and temperature correction of a thermal mass flow meter is optimum, and the repeatability is outstanding.
What is the use of Steam Flow Totaliser?
Manas produces steam flow totalizers for industrial use. The mass flow rates of saturated and superheated steams are measured with these units. It computes the mass flow according to guidelines and measures the instantaneous density based on pressure and temperature.
What role does draft measurement play in boilers?
Boiler draft needs to be measured at 7 different locations in a boiler. Accurate draft measurement can reduce emissions, improve boiler efficiency and reduce energy bills.
What is draft in boilers?
The difference between atmospheric pressure and the pressure existing in the furnace or flue gas passage of a boiler is termed as a draft. A draft can also be referred to as the difference in pressure in the combustion chamber area which results in the motion of the flue gases and the air flow.
